'Daffodils' is one of my latest floral lino prints — inspired by the beautiful daffodils popping up everywhere near where I live. Walking twice a day with my new puppy has given me a whole new appreciation for them!

One of the joys of drawing flowers is that you get to notice every tiny detail you'd normally overlook in a bunch from the shop. The curve of a petal, the delicate trumpet, the way the stem holds its weight.

This one had a little journey of its own. After printing, I felt the lower half needed something more — so I designed and cut an additional lino block to add to it. A few prints didn't survive the process (recycled, of course!), which is why this is part of a very small edition of just six. Seven colours in all.

I'm really glad I didn't give up on this one.

Please note: the mount and frame shown in the photograph are not included in the sale.
