I based "Crumbling Pyramid" on the sculpture "Triumph of Silenus", by Jules Dalouin, in the Jardin du Luxembourg, Paris.
In Greek mythology, Silenus was a follower of the wine-god Dionysus. Silenus was described as the oldest, wisest and most drunken of the followers of Dionysus, and was often so drunk he had to be carried on a donkey, and supported by his companions.
The painting is protected by high quality varnish. It is sold unframed, and is painted on wood panel, so will need to be framed before hanging.
