Crossings (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Sophie HORS

100 x 100 x 2cm (unframed)

£1,850.15

This artwork is a diptych from a series of paintings exploring the pedestrian crossing within a Parisian hotel setting, where movement, fashion and colors become starting point for a contemporary visual narrative. The two women silhouettes appear to cross the same space, each following her own trajectory. Their elongated silhouettes and confident presence convey two distinct energy moving forward with elegance. I chose to treat the landscape in a deliberately simplified way, using bold contrasting colors. The vivid yellow-green of the grass creates a strong visual connection with the figures. It’s graphic and almost cinematic. Stripes and floral patterns bring rhythm and personality to each woman. The dogs they carry add a touch of charm to the scene.
