Artwork description
Study of cowslips starting to flower amidst goosegrass. Seen as a sign of spring progressing. The bright flowers shine out of the picture and out of the dark sward. It was inspired by the watercolours of Albert Durer of primulas and of a square of turf, and also by the actual flowers.
Materials used:
Copper plate, etching ink combining prussian blue and black, Fabriano paper
