Cotton Pods on Branches (2024) Original Oil Painting by Yuliya Odukalets

Delicate cotton pods rise on slender branches, their creamy white blossoms set against a soft palette of beige, pale blue, and neutral gray. Loose impasto brushstrokes give the flowers and branches a gentle, natural presence, while the airy background creates a feeling of space and quiet.

I painted Always Good News as a reflection on resilience and inner strength in everyday life in Ukraine. The cotton blossoms may look fragile, yet the branches hold them firmly — a quiet reminder that strength does not always have to be loud. Sometimes it is simply the ability to support yourself, keep going, and leave room for hope.

The painting carries a peaceful. It is for a collector who is drawn to quiet beauty, meaningful symbolism, and the feeling of calm strength that can live within an ordinary moment.
