Copper Relics

Copper Relics is an original set of four abstract textured paintings by Edelgard Schroer. Each small canvas is individually created with deep structures, layered surfaces and warm metallic tones of rust, sienna, antique gold, copper and white.

The heavily textured surfaces reveal cracks, raised details and irregular structures that give the paintings an aged, almost archaeological character. Warm copper and rust tones contrast beautifully with the light white background, while antique gold accents and a slightly glossy finish interact with the light and emphasize the tactile surface.
