Contemporary Impressionism.
This painting depicts the dramatic stretch of the Gower Coastal Path from Rhossili to Worm’s Head, near Swansea — one of Wales’s most striking coastal landscapes. I captured the scene during a scorching September day while on holiday, drawn to the vivid contrasts between the golden grasses, shimmering sea, and rugged cliffs. The intense sunlight created bold shadows and a warm, hazy atmosphere that I aimed to convey through layers of colour and texture. The final piece was completed later in my studio, where I refined the composition to reflect both the beauty of the place and the sense of stillness and heat that defined that afternoon.
The painting continues around the edges so framing is optional. Signed on the front, varnished and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
