Coastal Light (2026) Original Oil Painting by Liza Illichmann

This piece was deeply inspired by my trip to Tenerife, where I fell in love with the island’s raw, breathtaking nature. Standing along the coast, I wanted to capture the striking contrast between the rugged, dark cliffs and the powerful energy of the crashing waves below.
What stayed with me the most - and what I truly wanted to bring to life in this painting - was the magical atmosphere of the sky. The clouds hung so low and heavy over the water that it felt like an intimate canopy, as if I could literally reach out and touch the sky.
