Maynard Dixon was an incredible painter, illustrator and graphic designer. I saw his works at a show at LACMA Los Angeles and fell in love. He painted many scenes of the southwest and created many of the covers for early Sunset Magazine which also included his paintings of trains, as well as book covers. He loved the desert and it shows in his works.

"Cloud Study - After Maynard Dixon" is an original oil painting on an 6 x 8 linen. I generally paint alla prima, meaning in one sitting, and from life. All my work is done using professional and archival paints on archival canvas or linen. The painting comes unframed and unmounted allowing you to choose a frame that will best suit your taste. Your framer should easily be able to mount this as part of the framing process. If you choose to not use a professional framer, the painting should fit into a standard frame, but if you would like help with framing suggestions or would like me to frame your painting, email me I'd be happy to help.

-----------------------------------------------------
I believe everyone should be able to have and enjoy original art, so as a daily(ish) painter I offer these smaller works for sale here and during my studio shows.

What Collectors Say:
* People have described my work as soothing and calming to the soul, elegant, and thoughtful.
* The painting is even more beautiful than the small photo can convey.
* Lyrical and beautiful painting. Lizz provided framing advice and delivered ASAP

My work has been seen in commercials and on television and is collected both in the United States and abroad. I teach classes, workshops, and privately, and I often write about my work or art in general. And I'm fortunate to have won several awards.
