Cloud Static (2026) Original Mixed-media Painting by Flora Butler

25 x 35 x 2cm (unframed)

£285

Inspired by clouds moving and shifting across the sky and the intricate patterns of mycelium networks, Cloud Static was built up through a slow, difficult and layered process. A pale blue background formed the foundation, layered over with rows of interconnected white rings. I then meticulously drew hundreds of tiny hand-drawn lines in acrylic fineliner across the surface, creating a fine, woven texture that produces a misty, deep effect. Finally, loose white circles were painted over the top, dripping gently down the canvas and drifting like clouds across the piece.

The result is a hazy, atmospheric surface that shifts with the eye; up close, a dense field of hand-drawn marks; from a distance, a misty composition of overlapping circles.

This piece is signed and dated on the back and comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity. It will be carefully wrapped in tissue paper and foam board, then shipped in a cardboard box within 5 working days.
