Citrus in Motion (2024) Original Acrylic Painting by Elena Bogatova

Citrus in Motion is an original acrylic painting inspired by the freshness, transparency and energy of summer. Vivid red and orange citrus slices glow inside transparent glass jars as water splashes around them, transforming a familiar still life into a dynamic play of light, colour and movement.
Cool turquoise and blue reflections create a striking contrast with coral, scarlet and warm orange tones. Expressive brushwork and visible canvas texture give the surface a lively, handcrafted character, while the delicate reflections in the glass add depth and a fascinating sense of transparency.
I wanted to capture the instant when fruit, water and light seem to merge into one fleeting moment — fresh, playful and full of Mediterranean energy. The composition invites the viewer to look closely and discover new details within the layers of colour and reflection.
This luminous contemporary still life brings freshness and character to a kitchen, dining room, living room, studio or modern interior.
