Acrylic on canvas by Randi Antonsen
This is an original acrylic painting on canvas — a dreamlike forest where light dissolves into color.
A quiet row of trees stands in soft mist, while their canopies explode in thousands of small, horizontal brushstrokes in magenta, turquoise, tangerine, lime, gold and violet. The deep blue at the top holds the composition like a calm Nordic sky, while warm washes of white and yellow light break through in the center, drawing the viewer into the woods.
The technique is layered and expressive — transparent glazes, rhythmic dabs and dry brush strokes that create movement, like sunlight flickering after rain, or northern lights caught in the leaves. At the base, bold blocks of fuchsia and red ground the airy, ethereal upper part.
It is not a literal landscape, but a felt one — inspired by that magical moment when the sun breaks through after rain here in the Arctic. It’s about joy, resilience, and how color persists even in a cool blue world.
Original, signed, one of a kind.
