“Chimera”, 2026. Acrylic on canvas, 120x150cm

Elegant female painting. Black on beige background. Large oversized canvas.

The figure from the “Bestiary” series presents ambiguity. Not in an obvious mythological transcription as a mutation of several animals but more philosophical. The body dissolves into layers of pigment that recall weathered plaster, eroded stone, the slow deterioration of a wall that has held its surface for centuries. The texture was developed through direct study of the walls of Pompeii.

Beyond mythology, the chimera is also a figure of personal resonance. A chimera, in biological terms, is an organism that carries within it the DNA of two: the trace of a twin absorbed before birth and never fully disappeared. I have long understood my own nature through this lens, the theory of the vanishing twin as a way of accounting for an internal duality that otherwise resists explanation. That explains my two quite different visual languages, and two ways of presenting myself in the world.

Apart from that, this artwork became a chimera itself through an additional layer: it was an old artwork transformed into a new one, while still preserving traces of its previous nature beneath the surface.

Dimensions: 47"x59" / 120x150cm

Edition: Unique, Unframed, Unstretched, Rolled. Signed front and rear sides. With a certificate of authenticity.

This artwork will be shipped rolled in a dent-resistant tube.
This method is especially safe for large works and provides lower shipping costs as well.
Rolled works can be easily stretched (for canvas works, i.e. placed onto wooden stretcher bars) and/or framed by a local framer upon arrival
