Chasing the Golden Light captures the quiet magic of sailing toward the last warm light of the day. Three sailboats move across the shimmering sea, following a path of golden reflections beneath a sky filled with blue, turquoise, pink, violet and warm sunset tones.

I painted this work with a palette knife, building the surface with expressive layers of oil paint. The thick texture of the water and sky reflects the movement of the sea and the changing light of the evening.

For me, this painting is about freedom, movement and that beautiful moment when you simply want to keep going toward the light.
