This is the beginning of a series in which I combine two of my main fields: female portraiture and horses.
I've always felt that horses are naturally very similar to women—in their movement, their muscular flexibility, the way they carry themselves, their combination of power and vulnerability. The idea of ​​combining the female body with the equine one wasn't a mythological game for me, but a natural next step: an attempt to see what would happen if I allowed these two worlds to merge. Moreover, ancient mythology itself ignored them. Their names and stories have barely survived: they appeared in mosaics and paintings, but rarely found a voice in texts. Perhaps because they didn't fit into the usual roles—neither monsters, nor rewards, nor heroines in the classical sense. My centaurides are something more than just women. And what exactly is left for you to decipher.
