Carved Geometry Photograph by Basel Almisshal

76.2 x 76.2 x 0.25cm (unframed) / 76.2 x 76.2cm (actual image size)

£696.9

A carved panel of Islamic geometric ornament, photographed straight on so the pattern fills the frame edge to edge. Light rakes across the relief, turning mathematics into shadow and stone into lace.

Islamic geometry has been a lifelong study for me, both as an architect and as a photographer. Patterns like this one are built from a handful of compass moves repeated with absolute discipline, yet the result feels infinite. The craftsman's hand is present in every line; the underlying order belongs to no single century.

This is a museum-quality giclee print on archival fine art paper, made from the original high-resolution file, signed and numbered with a certificate of authenticity. Each print is produced to exhibition standard and shipped rolled in a protective tube.

Materials used:

Archival pigment print (giclee) on museum-grade fine art paper
