This piece is part of a limited series featuring androgynous busts, with each work being unique. Through this series, I have experimented with how color influences form, exploring its impact on the mood and context of each sculpture. I frequently explore polychrome sculpture in my work, a medium that I believe is underrepresented.
This work explores two intriguing chemical reactions. Initially, by subjecting chromium oxide, typically displaying a vivid green hue, to specific conditions, I achieved a subtle yet captivating pink color. With slight adjustments, I managed to impart a delicate lilac tint to the surface. The second reaction involves a glaze crawl effect, where the surface appears adorned with beads or droplets.
Every piece is carefully packaged, individually encased in mounting foam with a cradle, ensuring secure fixation during shipping.
