Botanical Interruption is an original contemporary abstract floral painting by Tatiana Malinovscaia, created in 2026. Measuring 60 × 100 × 2 cm, this one-of-a-kind acrylic artwork brings together architectural geometry, expressive botanical forms, and layered neutral tones.

While creating this painting, I was interested in the moment when something organic interrupts an ordered space. I began with strong vertical and horizontal structures, building an almost architectural foundation, and then allowed the central floral form to emerge freely through the composition. For me, this contrast became the essence of the painting: structure meeting spontaneity, permanence meeting something fragile and alive.

The composition is built through multiple layers of professional acrylic paint using brushes, palette knives, glazing, scraping, dry-brush techniques, dripping, and expressive freehand line work. Fine black gestures move across the structured background, while the textured white botanical form creates a dramatic focal point and gives the painting a distinctive sense of depth.

The sophisticated neutral palette combines warm beige, taupe, mocha brown, deep espresso, charcoal black, smoky grey, ivory, cream, and white. Transparent and opaque passages overlap throughout the surface, creating subtle variations that become more visible as the natural light changes.

Although inspired by botanical forms, the painting remains intentionally abstract. It may suggest a flower, branches, an architectural interior, or simply an encounter between organic movement and geometric structure. This openness allows the artwork to develop a different relationship with each viewer.

With its elongated 60 × 100 cm vertical format, Botanical Interruption is particularly suited to Modern, Contemporary, Japandi, Scandinavian, Organic Modern, Wabi-Sabi, Minimalist, and sophisticated neutral interiors. It works beautifully in a living room, bedroom, hallway, office, reading area, or designer interior where a strong vertical statement piece is needed.

The artwork is painted on stretched canvas, features painted edges, is signed on the front, ready to hang, and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
