Black Sun is a layered digital photomontage that combines fragments of urban architecture with distressed textures, abstract forms, and a palette of rust-coloured oranges set against cold blues and deep charcoal tones. The contrast between these warm and cool elements creates a visual tension, suggesting both decay and renewal within the contemporary city.

Inspired by the changing surfaces of the urban environment, the work explores the marks left by time, weather, and human activity. Rust-like textures evoke corrosion, memory, and transformation, while the cooler blue tones introduce a sense of distance, atmosphere, and modernity. The dark circular forms, suspended above the cityscape, reference a symbolic “black sun” — a mysterious presence that hints at unseen forces shaping the urban landscape.

Through its layered construction and weathered aesthetic, Black Sun presents the city as a place of constant change, where beauty emerges from the interaction of structure, deterioration, and the passage of time.
