Original artwork description
I really enjoyed painting this particular cat. She belongs to a friend from down the street and I couldnt resist collaging a narrative of birds, trees and feathers around her.
I start the canvas with a rough pencil sketch and then I add the coloured paper before building up the layers with acrylic paint. The last thing I add are the embellishments of thread, beads, buttons and glitter to pick out or highlight certain areas.
