Abstracted impressionist landscape painting.
This painting was inspired by the huge skies and distant horizons of Exmoor National Park. I was listening to the song 'Feeling Good' by Nina Simone as I was planning this piece. Captured by the lyric 'Birds flying high, you know how I feel', I painted this landscape from the birds eye view. The aim is to give the impression of soaring above the moor, enjoying the sense of space and freedom.
Painted in oil, largely with a palette knife, this piece is full of glorious colours and textures.
