Betula is the botanical name for birch. For me, sculpting with natural materials is a creative engagement with nature. Weeks of work result in complex, organically shaped sculptures that bring nature to life.
Here, I've left the texture of the chisels as a surface feature. It's a powerful, vibrant, and beautifully formed sculpture made of light birch wood. It's finished with a colorless wax for protection and mounted on a dark stone base.
