Before the Evening Comes (2026) Original Mixed-media Painting by Jenny Furman

Before the Evening Comes

115 × 93 cm | 45.3 × 36.6 in
Mixed media on canvas

Before the Evening Comes is inspired by that brief moment when the sky turns red just before the daylight begins to disappear.

Warm reds, dusty pinks, burnt orange and earthy tones spread across the canvas, interrupted by deep blues, greens and small flashes of brighter color. Layers of texture and spontaneous marks capture the changing light and the energy of a day that isn’t quite ready to end.

It’s that in-between moment — when everything feels warmer, deeper and more intense, just before evening comes.
