Before Disappearance
*From the "Found Beauty in Decay" series*
Printed photograph on canvas / Limited edition, signed, numbered and dated / 150 × 113 cm

There are places where matter seems to grow weary of its own silence.

Then surfaces begin to dream.

From their depths emerge fragile, almost transparent forms, like memories no one has ever lived. They have no names and seek no recognition. They appear for a moment—just long enough to disturb the order of things—before retreating once more into the anonymity from which they came.

Here, concrete is no longer merely concrete.

It becomes a frontier.

A thin membrane between what exists and what has not yet chosen to exist.

The gaze comes to rest upon a form that seems to detach itself from its own absence. Around it, other traces stand in silent vigil, like signs left behind from a forgotten language before it was ever spoken.

Nothing is stable.

Nothing is certain.

And perhaps that is precisely why the image breathes.

Because it offers no answers.

Because it refuses to become an object.

Because it remains suspended within that rare territory where matter begins to resemble a revelation, and revelation a fleeting trace of moisture upon a wall.

Perhaps disappearance is not the opposite of appearance.

Perhaps they are the same movement viewed from different directions.

And what we are witnessing is not the end of a presence, but the moment of its greatest intensity—the fragile instant in which it can still be perceived before returning to the silence from which it was born.
