Bee Mosaic II (2026) Linocut by Rebecca Coleman

22.5 x 26cm (unframed)

57 Artist Reviews

£75

In this original handmade lino cut print, Rebecca has emulated the style of leaded coloured glass to create a vibrant image of a bee on a flower head. This piece echoes the religious iconography associated with stained glass in churches: the bee appears almost as an angel or heavenly being - perhaps suggesting that the bee's vital environmental service of pollination is at least as worthy of veneration and worship as any theological deity. The artwork is constructed using one linocut to represent the 'lead', with other lino pieces arranged as the 'glass' to complete the image.

Please note the actual image size is 22.5x26 cm. The artwork is hand-printed on a larger sheet of paper to allow for mounting and framing.

Materials used:

Lino cut, ink on paper
