Original artwork description
This is a plein air painting from my trip to the island of Corsica. At the villa where we stayed, there was a very stylish and beautifully designed bathroom with an interesting colour palette and atmosphere. I painted it several times. This is one of the versions: a view of a mirror in an unusual decorative frame, morning sunlight, several personal items, an old wardrobe, an open suitcase with clothes, and a view from the window onto a picturesque spring landscape with colourful trees fading into the distance.
The entire scene is filled with a sense of warmth, light, island exoticism, and uniqueness.
The work is painted in restrained pastel tones, almost graphic in quality. It is oil on a hand-stretched canvas. The surface is matte.
