baite (2024) Original Oil Painting by franco orsi

This 21x30 cm oil on paper artwork, titled "Baite" (Chalets), beautifully portrays a serene mountain winter scene using heavy, sculptural impasto brushstrokes. The focal point features a cluster of dark wooden rustic huts, their roofs heavily blanketed with thick, layered white paint representing deep snow. Behind the chalets, a dense pine forest rises up the mountainside, captured in deep evergreens and icy blues, with branches dusted in frosty white highlights. In the foreground, a frozen or partially thawed stream cuts diagonally through the thick snowdrifts, its surface mirroring the cool tones of the sky, creating a powerful sense of alpine stillness and textured depth.
