Original artwork description
Around 150 years ago Europe was flooded with African art due to colonial expansion in Africa and the missionaries. The result of this was that many artists including Picasso were introduced to a new way of thinking and that gave birth to Abstract art which has thrived up until today’s art world. The thinking behind my art is, what if we took today’s knowledge of the abstract language, took it back to its roots and began all over again, in the hope of discovering a new route to take the visual language and give us a greater understanding of how we view things.

Ink and soft pastels.
