Aster (Framed) (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Melanie Crawford

43 x 43 x 4cm (framed) / 41 x 41cm (actual image size)

£483.41

Original acrylic on deep edge canvas 43cm x 43cm in quality handmade timber frame.
The inspiration for this work is from my favourite quote from Martha Graham "There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and it will be lost." I wrote the words down in between layers as I was creating the artwork. For me, inspiration comes from a wide variety of sources, nature, memory, music, research and through experimentation. I’m interested in the power of the organic, time and memory and understanding that art is a universal language.
