Original artwork description
Ancestors Field emerged intuitively, without a predetermined image. Its layered forms gradually began to suggest something ancient and living — a presence that seems to exist somewhere between a body, a landscape and a memory.
For me, the work became a field where different times coexist. Something inherited, something remembered, and something much older than personal memory seem to overlap within the same space. The forms appear, dissolve and pass into one another, as if carrying traces of those who came before us.
Painted in translucent layers of gouache, the work remains deliberately open and unresolved. I want the viewer to be able to enter this field with their own associations and perhaps recognise something there that cannot quite be named.
