ALMOST GOT HIM (2026) Original Mixed-media Painting by Joe McHarg

Here I have tried to capture the instant that the cowboy throws his lasso, trying to rope the longhorn. Looks like he may have to make another attempt. This painting uses heavy impasto (texture) to emphasise the roughness of the cowboy's work. The background is a grassy field with blue-grey mountains in the far background.
Almost Got Him is a one of a kind, original work of art. It is produced using India ink and acrylic paint on 5 mil laminated Dura-Lar artist mylar film. I have stayed with my usual pallet of warm “earthy” colors.
The painting is signed on the front and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.

I will include a hanging strip and a “monkey hook” for easy attachment to your wall.
