Artwork description:

A reduction lino cut printed using 16 colours. The colours are applied to the block individually, starting with the lightest. After each colour is printed, the lino is carved again to ensure that those areas of colour remain untouched by subsequent inking and printing. This process requires careful planning and forethought, and precipice alignment of the block and the paper as each print must go through the press multiple times (in this case 15).

Based on a photo of a fishing float in the Aegean Sea.

Materials used:

Relief printing ink and paper
