Original artwork description
Inspired by walking the quiet country lanes around Burton in Lonsdale, this painting captures the gentle light of a winter afternoon as the sun sinks low behind the bare branches.
Soft, muted colours and a warm golden glow settle over the landscape, creating a feeling of stillness and tranquillity. I wanted to capture that fleeting moment when the fading sunlight casts a gentle warmth across the countryside, bringing a quiet beauty to an otherwise ordinary winter's day.
Painted in oils, this work celebrates the understated beauty of the Yorkshire countryside. Its hazy light and subtle colours create a peaceful atmosphere, bringing a sense of calm and warmth to your living space.
