- A Shared Field
Original artwork description
A Shared Field.
Identical forms, a repeating structure, a shared background - and shades through which differences emerge.
This work explores the invisible influence of our environment on us: on our thoughts, decisions, and ability to express ourselves.
Each of us remains part of a shared field, yet occupies it in our own way. Between the desire to be ourselves and the need to belong, between inner impulse and external circumstances, a space for personal choice emerges.
We do not always choose the environment we find ourselves in, but each of us, in our own way, determines the place we take within it.
Diptych. Acrylic on watercolor paper, two sheets, A4 each.
Each sheet: 29.7 × 42 cm (11.7 × 16.5 in). Overall: approx. 61 × 42 cm (24 × 16.5 in).
