The painting titled «A midnight garden» depicts a floral composition of several pink peonies on a black background. The work is meant to celebrate the persistence and harmony of human existence. This was achieved by taking as a model the nature's utmost beautiful product: the flowers. In the visual arts, indeed, flowers have always been considered the ultimate epitome of sensuality, vigor, elegance, and passion: all of which are supreme attributes of the driving force of human consciousness. To convey these concepts, I painted aggressively, spreading petals on the canvas frantically, like an explosion of colors and irregular geometric shapes that spread beyond the painting's two-dimensional boundaries. In the same way that pure affection transcends any imposed confinement, the destructive force of the composition moves deliberately toward the innermost sensitivities of the curious spectator. In the same way that pure love implies.
