Like the torus, the body is a tube through which matter passes. Any organism interacts with its environment. It perceives and signals. Sometimes friendly, sometimes hostile. Every message has two sides—transmitting and receiving.

Language is activated when innate matter becomes life. Information is measured, categorised and associated, and then turned into prediction and speculation, by which the living navigates. Just as the quantum wave collapses into particles, life observes and brings reality into being.

Simultaneously, any transformation, any movement, becomes a gesture, a sign to be interpreted. Our bodies are language materialised, as our minds are matter conceptualised.
