Two figures face each other across an impossible distance - their elaborate tower-hats reaching upward, each crowned with an egg, each decorated with feathers, ribbons and flowers. Between them, a pink bird walks a tightrope, carrying a rose in its beak. It is the messenger, the mediator, the fragile hope stretched between two people who wait.
They do not touch. They do not look at each other directly. They wait - for the bird to complete its crossing, for the rose to be delivered, for the moment that may or may not come. Above them the dark foliage holds its breath. Below, tiny bare trees stand witness to this suspended moment.
Waiting has never looked so elaborate, so absurd, so tender.
