About Vera Higgins

Biography

My name is Vera Higgins, and I am a professional graphic designer and fine artist based in the beautiful state of California. For much of my career, I worked as a commercial designer for a variety of businesses while pursuing my passion for art in my free time. Over the years, however, my love for creating art grew stronger, inspiring me to fully dedicate myself to mastering my craft. Living in California, surrounded by mountains, lush plants, vibrant flowers, and towering trees, I find endless inspiration in the natural beauty around me. The local landscapes serve as my primary muse, offering a rich tapestry of shapes, colors, and ideas to explore. I believe my work—whether in graphic design, painting, or drawing—reflects my true purpose and the deep passion I feel compelled to express through art. My paintings are more than visual representations; they are personal expressions of the creativity and passion that inspire me every day. While I primarily work with oils, I also enjoy experimenting with other techniques, including pencil drawing and linocut. This diverse approach allows me to explore fresh perspectives, unique textures, and continually evolve as an artist. My work is featured in private collections around the world, including Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Exhibitions:

Botanical Art and Illustration, Los Angeles CA, USA (2021)

Simply Red, Pomona CA, USA (2015)

Inaugural Stone Gala of the Arts, Anaheim CA, USA (2024)

Point of View, The OCFA Showcase Gallery Santa Ana CA, USA (2025)
