Biography
My name in art is Thia Path. I was born in Argentina and have lived in Italy for many years, where I have worked as an architect, teacher, researcher and, today, as a painter.
My relationship with painting changed in 2001, when I encountered Mark Rothko's work at the Fondation Beyeler in Switzerland. I remember being deeply moved by the colours and by the feelings they awakened in me. I realised that a painting could communicate something that words sometimes cannot express. That experience stayed with me and eventually led me to develop my own artistic language.
Today, I paint mainly with acrylics, oil, pastels and mixed media. I love working with colour, spontaneous gestures, layers and unexpected marks. I rarely know exactly where a painting will take me when I begin. I prefer to let it grow through a conversation between what I feel, what I see and what happens on the canvas.
I am interested in the way colours interact, how they create tension, movement, depth and sometimes a surprising sense of harmony. My background in architecture has certainly influenced the way I look at space and composition, but painting has also taught me something very important: to accept uncertainty and allow things to happen.
In 2025, I published my book "Dialogare con la tela. Per scoprire sé stessi: il Metodo RilassARTE", with Pensa MultiMedia. It grew out of my artistic practice and my experience sharing painting with others. Through the book and my workshops, I explore how gesture, colour and creativity can help us discover something about ourselves.
Over the years, my paintings have found their way into private collections in Italy and abroad. I have also built a community of around 40,000 followers on social media, where I enjoy sharing not only my finished paintings but also my creative process and my thoughts about art.
I would love to become part of Artfinder because I believe that living with an original painting can be a very personal experience. I don't expect everyone to see the same thing in my work. In fact, I hope they don't. What matters to me is that a painting can create a connection, awaken a feeling or simply make someone stop for a moment.
I would like my paintings to bring colour, energy and perhaps a little light into people's everyday lives.
Gesture marks time, color transcends it.
