About Simon Blackley

I had 37 years of creative silence my mind absorbed the world and I lived by promises of painting again one day.  I quietly collected paint and canvas almost a token gesture to pretend I was an artist the hoard of materials became overwhelming  and in 2018 I primed a 90cm x 90cm canvas, it stood against a wall for weeks the white fabric almost painted its self eventually I made the first mark.  Today my work is progressing and every new piece follows the last it’s a little like a road map, point zero to point one
