  • Biography
My name is Tomoaki Orikasa. I'm originally from Japan and currently live in Oklahoma, USA. I graduated from University of Central Oklahoma with Art degree in 1997. I'm currently working at art foundry making monumental bronze sculptures as we as freelance sculptor and jeweller. My main media is metals mainly non-ferric metals. I'm fascinated by them since I was a kid because they are durable material yet very malleable. I found that they are the most suited material for my creative drive which is challenging close gap from my visions and ideas to physical limitation in reality. The art I create is as much a part of discovery in craftsmanship as it is to explore the extent of my subject. My latest works are one of a kind mixed media sculptures that I incorporated with skills and techniques I gained from silversmithing and sculpting over the years, expressing emotions and storytelling. I have been showing my works locally for many years and I like to expand my audience. I believe Artfinder (trustworthy online gallery) will give me chance to connect global audience.
