About Lena Langer

Biography

My work is rooted in the creation of imagined worlds where color, contrast, and line become the primary language of storytelling. Inspired by early 20th-century avant-garde movements, symbolism, folklore, mythology, and literature, I explore the space between reality and imagination, inviting viewers into narratives that feel both familiar and dreamlike.

Rather than relying on traditional perspective or illusionistic depth, I build compositions through bold color relationships, rhythmic lines, and carefully balanced contrasts. Color is not used to describe light but to communicate emotion, atmosphere, and psychological states. Movement emerges through repetition, asymmetry, and dynamic visual structures, creating works that feel alive and immersive.

In recent years, literary themes have become central to my practice. I am particularly drawn to stories that blend mysticism, philosophy, and human emotion, transforming them into visual experiences that encourage contemplation and personal interpretation. Folklore and fairy tales also play an important role in my work, offering a rich source of symbolism and timeless wisdom.

Through painting, I seek to create spaces where imagination, memory, and emotion can meet through a distinctive visual language of color and form.
