Yes, the beginning of any work is an idea. There can be many ideas, but the work stands still. And I need to make a painting—a beautiful spot on the wall. The idea is not my first priority. The craft comes first. I painted, sold it. I took the money and bought paint for the next painting. You squeeze the paint out of a new tube slowly, slowly... that's for the soul.
