  • Biography

    Dawn is a still life painter living in the Staffordshire Moorlands. Her work investigates traditional still life subject matter using a vibrant colour palette. She has ongoing series of citrus fruits, wine bottles and glasses, as well as taking inspiration from travelling.

    During her University days she studied Fashion and Textile design, working with textiles gave her an understanding of colour and shape that she carries through to her painting work today. Her work can be found in private collections internationally and she regularly takes part in exhibitions throughout the UK.

    Event: My Lovely Postcards

    “My Lovely Postcards” is a project that was initiated by Veronica Brooks, a family friend of Beth Foreman who recently died in our care, aged 32.

    After her death, Beth’s family raised money which they donated to Sobell House in the form of the ‘Beth’s Bursary’ Fund. The aim of the fund is to provide professional development for some of the healthcare professionals working for Sobell House and directly caring for people at the end of their lives.

    Money raised from the My Lovely Postcards project will be added to this fund.

    The Menier Gallery offers a dramatic space to view and exhibit works of contemporary art and design. The gallery is situated within the historic Menier Chocolate Factory, minutes from London Bridge, Borough Market and Tate Modern. The gallery is located at the heart of one of London's artistic hubs, and attracts many visitors, including art lovers, theatregoers, local residents and tourists.

    The Menier Gallery is managed by the registered charity Paintings in Hospitals and all the money raised from the hire of the gallery supports the charity's work. By hiring the gallery Exhibit Here will be helping Paintings in Hospitals to use art and creativity to reduce sickness, anxiety and stress in UK healthcare facilities.
