Hi there - I was born in '72 and have been drawing pretty much ever since - my mother's a sculptor so I didn't have much of a choice! Now I work from a studio in Nottingham. I've never actually attempted to exhibit my own work until quite recently - since then my work has been shown in museums and galleries around the region, and I have exhibited at both the Nottinghamshire and the Derbyshire Open.
I work mainly with charcoal, carbon and chalk on heavy, acid-free paper, often with a wash of watercolour beneath the drawing to add body. Figure studies have been central to my work over the last 10 years, and like all art forms, I use the medium to try and tell a story - to recreate a certain mood or atmosphere, to capture a particular moment (with varying degrees of success!)
I also work in pen and ink to create an ongoing series of urban landscapes - alleyways and backstreets - around the cities and towns of England. These are available as originals and Limited edition Giclée prints.
I'm available for commissioned work - anything from portraits to pen and ink - its a challenge I really enjoy so do contact me for more information.
