  • Biography
Christopher Witchall is a realist painter whose subjects include landscape, seascape, urban landscape and portraits. However, it is the fen landscape that surrounds his home in Cambridgeshire, for which he is best known. It is this landscape that he has been exploring, painting and photographing for 30 years, capturing its flat open spaces and vast skies.
His unsentimental approach to his subjects combine traditional painting techniques with the realism and cool detachment of photography.
