About Chris Carbone

My passion for art started when I was quite young and discovered my talent for drawing. I strive to create beautiful and thought-provoking imagery that goes beyond what meets the eye. I’m fascinated by the interplay of colour, contrast, light, and dark in my paintings, and my improvisational method keeps my work fresh and exciting.

I have exhibited my work in galleries across Canada, including the Toronto International Art Fair and collected internationally. Intuitive and contemplative, my work allows for incidental occurrences in the painting process. Observations, reflections and decisions made in the moment inform and direct the painting, lending an immediate and improvisational quality to it. There is a complexity to each painting that resonates in the layers of paint, leading to the allusion of something possibly recognizable.
