I'm a self taught artist, born in 1965. Having been a parent from an early age, and having to work full time, art was the furthest thing from my mind, as a young man. My art journey began once the kids had grown up and left the family home. I started by drawing and painting portraits, and later began to do pet portraits for family and friends. In 2024 I took early retirement from work and now, painting is what I do. I photograph scenes that amuse or move me in some way and use the images as reference. I'm particularly interested in the quirky side of animal and human behaviour.
