Biography
The inspiration for my paintings comes from a variety of sources. I am strongly influenced by the places where I have lived and visited. Emotional experiences and memories have also inspired my subject matter.
I aim to convey a strong sense of atmosphere, colour, light and mood through my work. I would like others to experience a sense of peace or calm when they view my work.
Painting for me is a solitary process. I like to be alone, with music. I use predominantly oil paint on canvas, which I apply in different ways; layering, brushing, scraping and wiping! I have a rough idea of what I am going to paint and then I let each painting develop as I am working.
