Original artwork description
The harbour: a place of welcome and farewell. A place brimming with industry, poetry and nostalgia. These thoughts go through my mind every time I visit the Hamburg Landungsbrücken, gazing out at the Elbphilharmonie, the historic ships Rickmer Rickmers and Cap San Diego, and the old tide gauge tower on the quay. This semi-abstract, vibrantly coloured painting is based on my memories. Without nostalgia, for my new adopted home is the south of France. But still with love for the Port of Hamburg.
The edges are black, so the painting can be hung without an additional frame.
